Helpful Tips
Several of these strategies can be used for sight words, letters, and sounds.
- Make flashcards and review them nightly.
- Make two sets of flashcards. Turn all of the cards face down and play a memory game to find matching pairs. Your child has to read each card turned over.
- Form the letters and/or words with play dough, shaving cream... anything fun!
- Ask your child to find and highlight sight words/letters in newspapers or magazines.
- Help your child find sight words/letters on cereal boxes or other food containers.
- Ask your child to find letters on business signs while you drive.
- Anything fun will help them learn!!!
